The Bulgarian Development Bank presented its financing opportunities at the international conference Automotive & Mobility Forum Southern and Eastern Europe 2022 that was held from June 1st to June 3rd at Inter Expo Center - Sofia.
The event was organized by Automotive Cluster Bulgaria in cooperation with Adam Smith Conferences UK. The forum opened with welcoming speeches by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev and the Minister of Innovation and Growth Daniel Lorer.
It was attended by representatives of leading automotive companies from Southern and Eastern Europe, and the main topics of discussion were car software, the future of autonomous vehicles, connected mobility in the digital era, digitalization of manufacturing processes, and many others.
Sofia Kasidova, Director - Strategic and Sustainable Development at BDB, presented the bank’s financial products.
“We have performed an analysis and we want to fund the automotive sector. It is important to the Bulgarian economy because it is experiencing accelerated, sustained growth and has potential for development. The sector follows the trends towards decarbonization and strict regulations for cleaner air and lower emissions,” noted Kasidova.
According to her, the disturbances of the world economy related to the pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and climate change are also determining the main development vectors of the automotive industry, which was the first to accelerate electrification.
“The BDB also supports these policies and offers financing for green energy. The bank supports the construction of photovoltaic parks to meet the needs of the business in response to growing electricity prices,” added Sofia Kasidova.
According her, the revolution in the automotive sector has started with the development of clean transport (electric vehicles), the financing of which is part of BDB’s goals.
