Econic One

The electric bicycle market is growing globally. Investor interest in the industry is also high. And the BDB is riding the crest of the wave with the Econic One - Arnold Schwarzenegger himself was captured by a passerby while he and his loved ones enjoyed Oktoberfest in Munich on the Adventure and Bandit bikes, two of the Bulgarian brand's latest models. They have a range of up to 100 kilometres and unique extras that the manufacturer has yet to develop. 

The dream of Galin Bonev, founder of the company, is for green and clean cities with many bike lanes. And his ambition is to turn Econic One into the "Tesla" of electric bikes.

Bulgaria is among the top five bike manufacturers in Europe, and Econic One is a leading player in the design and production of high-quality electric bikes with smart technology. Bulgarian bikes are gaining popularity across Europe and the US, where they are sold through the website and through a partner network of dealers and bike shops in various countries.

The idea for Econic One was born in 2015 in Varna, when Galin was looking for a new, more comfortable and pleasant way to get around the city. He assembled his first electric bike himself and his life and career took a different direction. For 5 years he assembled a small team to experiment and perfect the technology. A stage of expansion follows and the company started looking for an investor. He found him in the form of the BDB Equity Investment Fund, which became a shareholder with €2.5 million.

The company is investing the new funds in base improvements and the expansion of its IT and product departments. The company already employs 70 people and with the support of the fund it plans to further expand its team and strengthen its presence worldwide.
